The American Legion Auxiliary is a non-profit organization that developed this program to help invest in our future leaders and we owe our program's 72+ years of continued success to the many individuals that have supported us. Let's change the world! Here are some ways you can support American Legion Auxiliary New Mexico Girls State: Attend Get hands on with government, earn college credits, make life long friends. Learn more about ALANMGS and register your attendance for session. Thank you for your interest in volunteering with American Legion Auxiliary New Mexico Girls State. While we appreciate everyone that applies we are not able to invite everyone onto staff each year. Invitations to join the staff are based on the needs of the program and the skills/abilities of the applicants to fill the necessary roles. Invitations are sent out in January/February for the coming session. Depending on the responses received more invites could be sent out after that. ​ Please note all volunteers who accept an invitation to be on staff at ALA NM Girls State will be required to complete an online background check. Details will be provided to staff members as they prepare for session. Session Dates 2024 Session ​ Staff Orientation June 1, 2024 ​ Session June 2 - 7, 2024 2025 Session ​ Staff Orientation TBD ​ Session TBD Ensure you answer all questions on the form and submit before moving on or all entries on the form will be reset. What session are you applying? * Are you an American Legion Auxiliary member? (Not a requirement) Yes No Would you be interested in working on ALANMGS projects outside of session? Yes No This could include being a member of the ALANMGS board, working on the advisory committee/alumnae association or other projects. Please note you must be a member of the ALA to be a chair for the board but all other roles are available to interested parties looking to help ALANMGS. Special Skills (i.e. photography, tech, singing, piano, nursing, etc) Activities during session you are interested in (i.e. Flag Honor Guard, Choir, presentations, etc.) Do you need any special accommodations (i.e. golf cart, fridge for medicine, dietary needs, etc) Can you commit to arrive at the Saturday (prior to session) staff orientation by noon?
